Application for Funds:

In accordance with provisions of the Six-Year Comprehensive Scheme for 2007-2013, the Board of Commissioners has designated certain funds in the Final Budget for economic development programs and tourism promotion. Local groups and organizations may apply for funding support for such efforts. The Port’s Application for Funds should be used for such requests, in accordance with the format and schedule requirements as defined therein. Applications will be reviewed by the Board of Commissioners for consideration of how requests meet the Port’s Goals and Objectives (as defined in the Comprehensive Scheme) as well as the criteria stated in RCW 53.08.245 for economic development programs and RCW 53.08.255 for tourism promotion.

Commission Policy as adopted 11/14/07: Applications for Funds to the Port (for sponsorships, trade fair participation, tourism and similar economic development opportunities) will only be reviewed by the Board of Commissioners semi-annually, at the March and September Regular Meetings. Barring exigent circumstances, all Applications shall be submitted to the Port office no less than one week before the Meeting, collected by Port staff, and reviewed by Commissioners at only the March and September Regular Meetings. Disbursement of any approved funding shall be conducted via invoicing at subsequent meetings. To assist Commissioners in their review, applicants may wish to be present to provide a 5-10 minute summary of their request at the review Meeting as well as answer any Commission questions
