Grants
The Port of South Whidbey has been awarded a grant of $1.2 million from the Island County Board of Commissioners. The source of these funds is the State of Washington's Rural County Economic Development Funds Program. In this program, the State makes sales tax revenue from rural counties available to those counties for economic development projects. The funds will be distributed over 2010 and 2011 and will be used to help fund the expansion of the South Whidbey Harbor at Langley.
The Port continues to work with State and Federal agencies to secure additional grants to funds economic development projects.
